We've recruited heavily for the appropriate cinematographer for this position and we've identified that (Your name) as the ideal candidate for X, Y and Z reason.

  • His experience in the field is specific to this type of industry because (abc)

  • He is highly qualified because (abc)

  • All production will he happening in Canada (Producing, Editing Ex)

I’d recommend that if you are hired for this project, that (company name) draft a “B-1 letter” for you to carry, setting forth information about (company name) as a company, details about the project it has been hired for by the U.S. client, and confirmation as to the fact you are seeking entry to the U.S. to engage in activity that is integral to the work (company name) is doing in Canada, that your salary is paid in Canada by (company name), that there is no way this footage can be captured in any other way than on-site at the client location, and that the footage will be brought back to Canada where editing/production of the commercial will take place. They should also detail why you were selected for this project – I would say that your specific expertise in this type of work, and their history with you on similar projects in the past (I looked at your website and it appears you’ve worked with them before) would be a sufficient rationale. But again, these aren’t one-size-fits-all letters, your letter would need to be customized to (company name) and the facts of that project.

We regularly assist Canadian companies with drafting B-1 letters. We typically charge hourly for such work.
